Welcome to the JOPOT submission portal. JOPOT accepts two submission categories: Standard Techniques (Operative and Non Operative)
Innovative Maneuvers.
Choose the most appropriate category for your work.
Each submission begins with a storyboard manuscript that details the surgical narrative for peer review. This ensures clarity and educational value before any video work starts.
The Two-Stage Submission Process
Submissions proceed in two stages.
Stage 1: Submit a structured abstract, outcomes citation, and a detailed, step-by-step storyboard manuscript covering video structure, visual descriptions, and narration.
Stage 2: After storyboard approval, produce and submit your final video strictly following the approved manuscript. This approach maintains high educational standards and peer-review integrity.
Video Production Guidelines
All videos must be in 16:9 high-definition format with clear English narration. Intraoperative voice recording is discouraged.
Length requirements:
Standard Techniques (8-12 minutes),
Innovative Maneuvers (3-5 minutes).
Use only MP4 or MOV (H.264 codec), and anonymize all patient data. No logos/text in the lower right corner.
Adhering to the approved script is mandatory. Substantial changes may require repeat review. Maintain educational focus and video clarity at all times.
Ethical Considerations & Copyright
Ensure informed consent from legal guardians and declare all conflicts of interest. Authors grant JOPOT a non-exclusive license to distribute the video, but retain educational rights. Maintain patient privacy and follow copyright policy on all submissions.
How to Submit
Stage 1: Upload your blinded storyboard manuscript and abstract via the OJS Editorial Portal for peer review. Prepare your manuscript for single-blind review. For further details, review the Author Guidelines on our site.
Stage 2: Once approved, upload your final video following technical and ethical requirements. For submission access and help, visit the ‘Submit’ section in the main navigation.
